I need to find out how many run-off companies and companies in run-off
there are in the US and in Europe.

Run-off companies are third party administrators that take over lines
of business that insurance companies find unprofitable. They buy that
line of business and then manage it, pay off the claims as quickly as
possible, etc. Insurance companies who agree to sell off these lines
of business are said to be "in run-off."  So, I'm looking for the
total number of both types of company.

I'll also pay another $10 if you can find me a url or other public
resource that lists these companies...

Actually, I just need the numbers for the US. You don't have to bother with Europe.

If you need details of these companies for europe, i think they are
called 're-insurance' companies. There is a category page listing some
