It appears that AAV-IGF1 is a long way from being available to the general public. It has not yet been approved by the FDA. The biotech company Ceregene is developing AAV-IGF1 under the name Cere-130: "Ceregene, Inc., San Diego, California This effort is part of several studies required for development and FDA- approval of adeno-associated viral vector ?IGF1 (AAV -IGF1) or Cere-130." http://www.alsa.org/research/grant.cfm?id=503&CFID=626810&CFTOKEN=68925638 "The ALS Association (ALSA) today announced funding support of a new pre-clinical study at Ceregene, Inc. to help move viral delivery of insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1) closer to the clinic for patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). This effort is part of several studies required for development and FDA approval of CERE-130. CERE-130 is a novel gene therapy product that involves the delivery of IGF-1 through an adeno-associated viral (AAV) vector. In partnership with The Robert Packard Center for ALS Research at Johns Hopkins and Project A.L.S., these efforts are vital to moving viral delivery of IGF-1 into clinical trials." http://www.rideforlife.com/archives/001107.html Contact info for Ceregene may be found here: http://ceregene.com/f-contact.html |
