How much Pam cooking spray do you use when frying the green beans and tomatoes? Pam cooking spray is mainly canola oil, but they are able to call it fat free because they use an incredibly tiny "serving size" of only 0.266g (a 1/3 second spray). If you spray lots of it into the pan you might as well use regular canola oil, or even better: olive oil. Two tablespoons vegetable oil contains 28g fat, 240 calories (kcal). http://www.scientificpsychic.com/fitness/labels2.html http://www.annecollins.com/calories/calories-oils.htm |

thank you. the question was almost answered. it seems then commonsense wise, 100 calories of the tomatoes and green beans sauteed or fried in 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil....the end product would be 340 calories......do you concur? |

Yes, 100 kcal of tomatoes and green beans fried in two tablespoons vegetable oil contains around 340 kcal (+/- a few calories, depending on the size of the spoon). Second source: "1 tablespoon of vegetable fat has about 14 grams of fat, 125 calories." http://www.usaweekend.com/food/carper_archive/960303carper_eatsmart.html Just keep in mind that 100 kcal of tomatoes and green beans fried in two tablespoons Pam cooking spray also contains around 340 kcal :) |
