Question ID: 510145
Where can I buy a CD containing a recording of Glen Campbell singing
the Lord's Prayer?

I used to own the vinyl LP called "Glen Campbell - 'Live'", recorded
on July 4, 1969, at the Garden State Arts Center in New Jersey. The
very last track was Glen's live recording of the Lord's Prayer. Very,
very moving.

Unfortunately, I don't have my turntable anymore, so I've gotten rid
of all my vinyl LPs. I'm now trying to replace my favorites with CDs
(if I can find them).

I can't seem to find a CD containing Glen singing the Lord's Prayer,
at least, not on a single CD. There is a 4-CD set, but I'd prefer just
one CD.

Can you help?

Glen Campbell's album "Favorite Hymns" includes "The Lord's Prayer."

It appears that this CD is out of press. However, you'll find several
used CDs offered on Half.com:

http://half.ebay.com/cat/buy/prod.cgi?cpid=1710394&domain_id=1876&meta_id=2

Amazon also has used CDs:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/offer-listing/B0000027QZ/ref=dp_pb_a//104-8416173-3073508?condition=all

Please let me know if this will suffice as an answer.

To Pinkfreud:

I listened to a snippet on the Amazon link, and wasn't thrilled.

I'm pretty sure that "Glen Campbell - 'Live'" was released on CD, I
just can't find it.

My preferences, in order, would be:
(1) New or used CD entitled 'Glen Campbell - "Live"'
(2) The 4-CD "Legacy" set (new or used) because I believe it contains
the same live recording of The Lord's Prayer as item (1) above.
(3) "Favorite Hymns" (new or used), but only as a last resort (it
isn't a live recording).

Thank you so much for your help.

I could not find a single CD that has a live version of "The Lord's
Prayer" (as mentioned below by my friend and colleague markj, there
are several "Glen Campbell Live" albums out there, which makes things
tricky). I wish I had known that you were already aware of the
"Favorite Hymns" CD.

I'm leaving your question open in hopes that another Researcher will
succeed where I have failed. Best of luck!

To Pinkfreud:

I didn't know about the "Favorite Hymns" CD until you mentioned it in
your request for clarification. It was then that I followed your
Amazon link to listen to a snippet of the recording. (I would never
knowingly waste your time.)

I do appreciate your attempt to help. If Pinkfreud can't find what I'm
after, then it's for sure that *I* will never find it. So I don't feel
quite so bad now. ;)

rambler --

There is a copy in an eBay auction that ends in a couple of days. You
might want to bid on it:

Actually, there appears to be more than one Campbell album/CD with
that name. The one I pointed out to you above is not described in the
auction listing, so it may or may not be the one you are seeking.
According to the All Music Guide, the right CD is on the Trace label
with catalog #40005.
