I believe the EF Miller was a "landscape gardener" now known as a "landscape architect" Your print [wood engraving?] may have been used as an illustration in Jacob Weidenmann's book - Beautifying country homes: a handbook of landscape gardening, illustrated by plans of places already improved. New York: Orange Judd [1870]. This volume was reprinted in the 1970s and you may be able to find this facsimile reprint in a library and see if your engraving was used in it. |

I knew I forgot something important -- like telling you the websites I used: I googled EF Miller and based on the result went to amazon.com to search for the reprint of the 19th century edition. Glad to be of help. |
