OK...I give up!!! What is the meaning of the lyrics of "Surrender" by
Cheap Trick. I know the lyrics (and do a mean karoke), but I want to
know the meaning of the lyrics...then I can sleep at night.

According to the music magizine "Blender" who interviewed Cheap Trick
band members, Surrender is an ode to the fact we all think our parents
are weird, and, if all parents are weird, then they are really
actually quite normal.

If you think about the lyrics, this makes sense (I won't waste time
posting the lyrics since you obviously know them). Each section is a
first person narrative (sung by the singer)of how odd his parents are.
 We see his mother complaining about the girls he dates and the STDs
she thinks they carry.  We end with the singer catching his parents
making out on the couch. The chorus of surrender is basiclly telling
you to "surrender" to your parents strange behavior, but at the same
time you should not act any differently because of it.
