From the 2005 Guinness World Records:

Highest Score In An NBA Match

"The highest aggregate score in an N.B.A. match is 370, when the
Detroit Pistons (186) beat the Denver Nuggets (184) at Denver,
Colorado, USA, on December 13, 1983. Overtime was played after a
145-145 tie in regulation time."


More interesting records:

Most Points In An NBA Half

"The Phoenix Suns scored a record 107 points in the first half of a
match against the Denver Nuggets on November 11, 1990."

Most Points In An NBA Season

"In the 1961/62 season, Wilt Chamberlain of the USA, scored a record
4,029 points for the Philadelphia Warriors. He also set season records
for the highest scoring average (50.4 per game) and for field goals

Most Player Points In An NBA Game

"The most points scored by an individual in an NBA game is 100, by
Wilt Chamberlain, when he played for the Philadelphia 76ers against
the New York Knicks on March 2, 1962. During his career, Chamberlain
also played for the University of Kansas, the Philadelphia Warriors,
the Harlem Globetrotters, and the LA Lakers."
