I've seen Pens and led jewelry that light's up when it detects the
frequency of a cell phone and I'm curious if anyone has seen one that
rings, vibrates, or vibrate and rings when it detects a cell freq.

My grandfather is hearing impaired enough not to be able to hear the
level 3 ring of his Samsung SCH-670 (verizon) when it's set to
vibe&ring. I'd like to find him a solution so he can better hear and
feel the cell phone going off when he's in a resturant or other loud
situation.

I for one have never seen such a gadget. But i beleive that if one can
light up one could vibrate. I would suggest that you make contact with
one of the companies that makes the ones that light up. Then you could
probably get one personalized if you were willing to pay the money.
Another solution would be to get one of those ones that light up and
modify it to a stronger or different power source and make it so that
it vibrates. Find a specialty mechanic in your area and he will
probably be able to do it. Other than that I do not have any advice
for you though I feel sorry for your grampa.

   sincerely,
