thinklondon,

This is actually a pretty challenging question, from a searcher's point of view.

I think I can probably come up with a list of about a dozen companies
that are based in California and operate in London as well, and can
also provide a good deal of info on each company, along these lines:

Let me know if a list of a dozen or so additional links like the one
above would meet your needs?

How much effort your question will take depends a lot on how many
companies you will consider to be an acceptable answer. The more
information you can provide about the context of your question, the
more likely someone will be able to get you what you need. I look

TL --

California has about 18,700 companies with more than 100 employees --
the size at which a company would logically consider a U.K. presence.
At 5 minutes of research per company that's more than six months of
effort.

One can easily have a computer automatically run through the profile
of every company listed in yahoo and search through the text of the
business summary to see if they have London offices. Enabling the
computer to do this would take about 4 hours of work and having the
computer find all the companies can take about 6-8 hours.

This assumes that the company summary contains the fact that they have
London offices, but judging from the link that pafa provided, this
seems likely.

Very feasible.

Atheist --

You'd miss all of the non-public companies.

Greetings Thinklondon,
From what's been said so far, it seems like a clearer definition of
what you need would be helpful.
From which direction are you really interested? Would you like to
address London offices of companies that are subsidiaries or branches
of co.s in California?
OR Would you like to address Cal. co.s that have offices in London?

Do the companies have to have their main office in California, or just
a presence there? Example. Bank of America was till recently a Cal.
bank but now through merger is based in N. Carolina, but still has a
major presence in Cal., and, of course, it has an office in London.

Since you ask for URLs and addresses, it doesn't seem likely that you
just want a list for statistics, but rather that you have a specific
interest, that maybe could be defined in a clarification. That would
certainly shorten the list and make an answer more feasable and
probably more useful for you.

The URLs and addresses are really asking for a lot - just the
transferring of them to an answer. If you have the names, you can
find "as much info ... as is feasable."

Got the picture? This is no criticism. I might have asked the
question the same way myself without recognizing the difficulties.
