This sketch painting is dated 1964 by an artist called J M Lallain(the
signature is cursive and this is what I though it reads as). The title
is " Skating in Central Park" , New York City. It features some people
skating while in the background shows some old architectural buildings
and i think the Empire State Building is one of them.Any idea if this
painting is worth anything? FYI, this painting was around since my
grandfather's time and he died many years ago.My uncle wanted to throw
it away but I convinced him to pass it to me. thanks!

I once saw "Antiques Roadshow" where a woman cleaning trash left by
the sellers of her home, saved an ugly old needlepoint piece from the
trash, turned out to be worth more than the house.

If the asking price of the original is ANY indication of the worth of
the print, I'd say you have a winner. Of course a lithograph is going
to be worth FAR, FAR  less.  Is it signed?

No matter what the answer, I advise you to get it appraised.
