Question ID: 511819
How could I increase the number of visits to my husband's website?

www.matthewwadsworth.com

Please note that he is a professional musician (lutenist) specializing
in seventeenth century music. He also happens to be blind.

A number of sites on the Links page
(http://www.matthewwadsworth.com/links.htm) have already linked to the
site.

Many thanks in advance for your comments / answers. We would of course
pay more for an in-depth answer.

Greetings Slwadsworth,

The first thing I recommend is that you tweak your keywords and add
more that pertain to your husband's music and career (the list is
fairly slim - you have listed: lute, lutenist, Matthew, Wadsworth,
theorbo, chitarrone, continuo - that's it). I'll show you a revised
keyword string further down.

In what areas are the majority of his concerts? For instance, if he
plays primarily in Vienna and plays for events as well as concerts,
you might add keyphrases/keywords such as

Vienna weddings,Vienna concerts,

and the like. And you might consider adding

lutist,lute player,lute musician

Also, remove the comma between Matthew's first and last name, and
rearrange your keywords a tad to read something like

Lutenist,lutist,Matthew Wadsworth,lute player,chamber
musician,continuo player,teacher,instructor,soloist,lute musician,live
concerts,festivals,private engagements,book
lutist,Vienna,theorbo,chitarrone,IAMA member,concert
bookings,Austria,Germany,Hungary,Slovenia,Tyrol,UK,United
Kingdom,Europe

etc.

That would be for the main page.

On his bio page, use some of the same keywords and keyphrases as above and add

London Royal Academy of Music graduate, London Student of the Year
1997, Braille lute tablature development,Braille music technology,

etc. making them exclusive to that page.

Make the keywords on that page reflect what is on that page. Examine
each page and customize your keywords and phrases to accurately
reflect the website content.

Don't overuse keywords but make them work for you. Keywords and
keyphrases should always reflect your page text so that search engines
will see that you are accurately representing your page text in line
with the keywords/keyphrases you choose. Your page titles should also
be unique to what is on each individual page. For example, on
Matthew's bio page, title it in the metatags as

Lutenist Matthew Wadsworth Biography

On the recordings page, title that

Lutenist Matthew Wadsworth Recordings

and add keywords/keyphrases on the recordings page such as

Matthew Wadsworth recordings, lute solos and songs from Shakespeare's England,

etc.

Title the concert diary page

Lutenist Matthew Wadsworth Concert Diary

Do you see the method? Simply accurately reflect in the metatags what
is on each page. This way, a search engine spider will see that you
are not leaving anything out or misrepresenting your webiste.

By the way, that's a lovely website. :)

Hope these suggestions assist you.

Best regards,
journalist-ga

SLWadsworth --

Stream some of his music in a protected format, like Carbon Leaf does
on their home page:
Carbon Leaf
http://www.carbonleaf.com/

* Put out a press release to relevant radio stations about the streaming music.
* Put the website URL on albums and promotional material.
* Make sure that he mentions the website in every interview and concert.
* Have his groupies make a fan page . . . oh, maybe you should forget that one.

Best regards,
