According to this article:

http://sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/c/a/2004/02/22/MNG6N55RUJ1.DTL&type=printable

there are "...nearly 19 million Americans under a diagnosis of
depression...and ...researchers found that the percentage of people
with a diagnosis of depression who were treated with antidepressants
in an outpatient setting increased from 37.3 percent in 1987 to 74.5
percent in 1997..."

If 74.5% of 19 million people with depression are taking anti-depressants, then:

19 million x 74.5% =

an estimated 14.16 million are taking anti-depressants.

Does that sort of calculation meet your needs?

Thank you for your question. I think you should clarify what you're
looking for, and consider raising the price.

I believe that to answer it well, your question will require more time
and effort than the average amount of time and effort associated with
this price. Here is a link to guidelines about pricing your question,
in the pricing guide: https://answers.google.com/answers/pricing.html

As you may know, a lot of people are taking antidepressants (SSRIs
like Prozac, Paxil and others) for conditions other than clinical
depression, such as panic disorder or other anxiety disorders. If you
want these people to be included in your total, it will be
considerably larger.
