Float is traditionally defined as shares of stock NOT held by company officers. Yahoo Finance has float figures... go to http://finance.yahoo.com/, type in the ticker you desire, on the left-hand menu bar under heading "Company", click "Key Statistics." Under the "Share Statistics" table, there's the outstanding, official float, insider, and institution data. Hope this helps. |

Yahoo does have key statistics for many but not all companies. |
