Pumpkins, hot sauce (from capsicum or chile peppers), and tequilla
(from the agave cactus) are all plants that arose in Mexico.

As noted by others, there are a lot of possible links between these
three, but I prefer this one.

What do you think?

all have their origins from a seed:

pumpkins comes from pumpkin seeds
tequila comes from the Agave plant (which starts as a seed)
hot sauce is usually made with chili peppers (peppers start from a seed)

When combined, they make an interesting margarita.

Thanks guys,
The seed answer while it may be true is not what the creaters of this
question are looking for. I guess its too easy. I will have to try the
new world answer, if true it could actually be the million dollar
answer.
2blue, I will have to try this, actually i am on my way now to get
tipsy on spicy pumpkin, tequilla margaritas. If i perfect the recipe
tonight i will post it for all to try.
Thanks again everyone.

Are they all connected with the Mexican "Day of the Dead" holiday?

I understand that this question comes from a radio quiz show in Miami.
Has anyone offered the obvious answer, "Nothing"?

It's an awful question because if pushed hard enough anyone can find
certain interconnections between three of almost anything. It relies
too much on subjectivity to be a good question, e.g., why couldn't the
seed answer be correct? It's true, certainly, but it's "not what the
judges are looking for."

I mean come on, how about:
"They all cause discomfort when consumed in excess."
"They all come in different colors."
"None have ever traveled on an Apollo mission."
"Pope Benedict XVI has never eaten the three of them during the same meal."
"At some point they were each thought to cure insanity."
"They all appear as either song titles or artists here:
http://www.disco.co.nz/songlist.pdf."

Stop the insanity!

(You know, maybe it does have something to do with music--radio
station, Smashing Pumpkins, Red Hot Chili Peppers, that song "Tequila"
that Pee Wee Herman danced to in his movie . . .)

The answer was revealed last week on the Paul & Young Ron Radio Show
where the question was created. They are all products now produced
and sold by Rock Stars:

Sammy Hagar (Van Halen) - Tequilla
The lead singer from Faith No More (I can't remember his name) - Pumpkins
Joe Perry (Aerosmith guitarist) - Hot Sauce

There it is, the answer, finally.
