A friend of mine called earlier today with a frantic question. He was on a mission, and the goal was to remember/discover the name of a song containing the following lyric: "No one knows how your monkey blows" I told him that I could find any information, as long as it existed (and wasn't either guarded by government regs or obscured by commonalities with useless query terms). Alas, I cannot find anything about it, but I want to make absolutely sure that it doesn't exist before I report that back to him. The phrase "No one knows" appears quite often, particularly in lyrics. However, "No one knows how" appears *much* less. "Monkey blows" appears irregularly, but not as irregularly as "your monkey blows" (which only appears in Google groups). My friend tells me that it might have been an alternative rock song or anything else in its outskirts. By my estimation, this probably also includes pop, that weird brand of poser 'hard' rock that seems to have swept the nation's radio stations, and maybe even genres like dub or 80s rock. I doubt it will turn out to be classic rock, IDM, or emo. I'm trying to provide as much detail as I can, but honestly, this question is as unsupported and ridiculous for me as it must be for you. Thanks! |

Dear kierah, I think I have found the mysterious song. It is "Monkey on Your Back" by the British band "Clinic". It's a guitar-driven song in very unique style, released in 1998 as a single and included on their 2002 album. The line your friend remembers is repeated numerous times. However, it is not easy to say if they sing "No one knows how your monkey blows", "No one knows how your monkey grows", or "No one knows how your monkey goes". Their singing style is a bit unarticulate. You can listen to a sample of "Monkey on Your Back" on their record company's website: http://www.dominorecordco.com/site/player.php?fileID=325&action=listen&list=artist This is the band's official website: http://www.cliniconline.org/ This is their record company, Domino Records: http://www.dominorecordco.com/ I hope that this is the song your friend has in mind!
