Question ID: 51294
What are some good internet sites where I can get serious free or low cost
advice. I am particularly interested in job/career advice but I could
use guidance in all areas. I already know of one lady named Eve. I
think it's Eve@aol.com. or something like that. She gives out free
advice over the internet.

Are you looking for someone (a columnist) to write to for answers to
specific questions, or are you interested in general advice columns
already written?

Thanks

There are people such as Eve, the advice lady, who take the time to
answer specific questions for free. I recently wrote to her and she
wrote me back.

There are also people like the Advice Sisters a advicesis@aol.com.
They charge 25 dollars for specific advice (two points of view).

That's what I'm looking for. Of course I'd prefer free serious advice.

You guys should of course be better than me in finding these sites. I
just looked up advice in google search.

Leotard:

I think the site you are looking for would be Askme.com from Ask Me
Business Solutions (http://www.askmecorp.com). Ask Me is a company
that specializes networking employee knowledge within any specific
organization. They created AskMe.com As a demo of the capability of
their methods. AskMe.com is a website where registered members can
seek consultation from any number of experts on the subject. The
asvice is both serious and free. Much like Google Answers, AskMe.com
has a user rating system, so you can decide how seriously to take an
experts advice.

You can post your questions to
http://www.askme.com/default.asp?referrer=contact
Going to just Askme.com will take you to the corporate homepage.

hope this helps,

Maybe you didn't understand. The type of advice sites I'm looking for
are sites that answer questions such as: how can I deal with a nasty
coworker; should I leave my current job or How can I get this woman at
work to notice me.

Eve's free advice does that. Freecenter doesn't seem to work at all.

I'm not looking for something similar to google or google answers.

Thanks

You seem to have confused my answer with the comment that
starrebekah-ga added after I posted it. I did not suggest
http://www.freeadvice.com, starrebekah did.

I know you are no looking for something to Google Answers. I only
compared AskMe to Google Answers in terms of it's user rating system.
I only did this to assure you of its quality. They are very different
services. Did you try it out?

I found answers to questions very similar to the ones you listed in
your clarification request.

or

for examples.

Forgive me if I've repeated links that someone else has posted. :)

Hi Leotard,

Good idea. There is always someone who's sitting at home willing
to share advice on the internet for free (kinda like I'm doing now) ;)
So-- why pay someone else for it, when you can just access these
sites? Here are some good ones:

http://freeadvice.com/ - This is free advice for ALL types of law.
Property, Real Estate, any kind of legal situation that you are in,
you can get free advice (from attorneys) here.

http://www.hometips.com/help.html - This is free advice on all types
of home improvement, given by experts.

Eve's Advice. Here's a picture of the Eve you refer to, as well as
her stipulations (does not give medical advice, etc).. and her e-mail
address, which is EvesFreeAdvice@aol.com. The website is:
http://members.aol.com/_ht_a/evesfreeadvice/?mtbrand=AOL_US

Here is a site with links for several free advice sites, and they are
rated by users. There are sites on law advice, teen advice,
relationship advice, psychic advice, and some just for fun advice.
The address is : http://www.freecenter.com/advice.html

Here's a good site, I didn't even realize existed. VERY similar to
Google answers in that you name your question and name your price, and
an expert will answer it for you. They have all types of advice,
including that on love, relationships, and what you were most looking
for -- career advice. The address is:
http://myservice.com/MyService/index.html?promoter=freeadviser

http://www.askbaby.com - You're not asking a woman named Baby, but
about baby advice. Very helpful if you plan on having a baby,
adopting, babysitting, etc.

http://www.emazing.com/ - Emazing is an interesting site, because you
can select the areas that interest you (ie. Careers).. and not only
will they give you advice, but daily tips. You can also choose to
have the tips e-mailed to you daily.

Here's a free online advice columnist named Mickey. Write him, and
have him answer your questions at http://www.dearmickey.com/

Here are free articles about Career advice. You can't really ask a
specific question, but they have a lot of helpful FAQ's logged for you
to browse.
http://www.careerlab.com/free.htm

This site is similar to the one above, but with more info:
http://www.careers.org/

Here's one final site on career advice.
http://www.geocities.com/athens/atrium/6333/RJ-CareerAdvice.html

Let me know if there's an area of advice that you need that I didn't
cover, and I'll try to get a link for you. Hope this helped!
