what can account for the US's decision to go to war with Iraq in 1991? is it mainly a rational calculative decision in terms of US national interests?is there any organizational SOPs or subculture within the government that results in almost no alternative other than war? or there are important figures who are closer to Bush and thus make the tendency towards war? Basically it's a question based on Allison's three decison model, and I want to find more concrete evidence to construct the decision process. the books I already have: the commanders(by Woodward), a world transformed(by George Bush) |

Try a book by James Mann "Rise Of The Vulcans, The History of Bush's War Cabinet", 2004 by Viking Press. It traces the personal and collective histories of key players in the current Bush admin. that were active in the Reagan-Bush yrs., and in many instances back to President Nixon. |
