Question ID: 513133
I would like to find the VHS or DVD of "One Foot in the Grave" British
comedy, SERIES 6, which has the final episode on it called, "Things
Aren't Simple Any More". I really enjoy this comedy but have missed
the last episode twice. I have been able to find Series 1 and Series
3 for sale on EBay and Amazon, but the PBS store no longer has any
copies of the series. My local PBS channel will not be showing "One
Foot in the Grave" for 2 more years. They said it is not available at
this time to broadcast on the American PBS channels. Maybe someone
has a copy of this particular episode that I could buy. It must work
on American equipment. I have a DVD player and a Video Cassette
Recorder/Player. Maybe I'll get lucky!! Meemaw-ga

Hi Meemaw,

Do you know if your DVD player is a multi-region DVD player?

The episode you are looking for is available on DVD but only in Region
2 format (US and Canada is Region 1.)

lotd

Hi again,

I forgot to mention that the DVD is in PAL format, so your DVD player
would need to be PAL compatible also.

Multi-region PAL DVD players seem to be widely available on
Amazon.com. For example:

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00061OPLI/qid=1114288031/sr=2-7/ref=pd_bbs_b_2_7/104-3611777-8293558

Hi Lotd,

I pulled out my DVD owner's manual and read this under "playable
discs". This DVD video player uses the NTSC color system, and cannot
play DVD video discs recorded in any other color system(PAL, SECAM,
etc.). So I am assuming it won't work on my player. This DVD video
player was a gift, so it probably is a very basic player. Let me know
if you need any more information.

Thanks so much,

Meemaw
