I have a MAC G4 tower with a hard drive split between OS9 and OSX. In
addition, it contains old passwords and administrative rights from a
previous owner. Can you please tell me how to uninstall everything
and start from scratch. I would like to end up w. only OSX and my own
login and pw.

you need installation CDs. If the previous owner didn't give them to
you, you should buy OS X at an apple store, or from a mac retailer.
The manuals included with the Cds have all the info you need.
Basically, you will boot up from the CD (holding the C key down) and
select an OS X only install option. Personally, I would open up disk
utility from within the installer and reformat the hard drive.
