Thanks for your comment.

126 E. 36th Street sold for $2,175,000 in early 2003.

Here is a link to a March 12, 2003 article in "Real Estate Weekly"
that contains the information:

Real Estate Weekly: "Sales - On the Real Estate Scene - multiple real
estate sales briefs" (about 4/5 down the page)
http://www.findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m3601/is_32_49/ai_99012212

The firm that handled the sale also has the transaction on its undated
"recent sales" list, linked, and identifies the buyer simply as an
"investor":

Massey Knakal: Recent Sales (about halfway down the page in descending
order of price)
http://69.20.69.114/RecentSales1/index.php

Additional Information (which you may already know):

The townhouse is currently listed by Corcoran at a price of $3,295,000:

Corcoran Group: Current Townhouse Listings
http://www.corcorangroup.com/agents/listings.aspx?userid=JF&Region=NYC

Interestingly, an earlier version of that page, which has been cached
by Google, indicates that the price in November 2004 was $3,450,000:

Corcoran Group: Townhouse Listings (cached by Google on 11/2/04)
http://64.233.161.104/search?q=cache:R4t3qeMN_fYJ:www.corcorangroup.com/agents/listings.aspx%3Fuserid%3DJF%26Region%3DNYC+%22126+e+OR+east+36th%22&hl=en

Search Strategy:

I used various Google searches to find the information and to confirm
that it is accurate and complete. This straightforward search was the
one that initially led to the answer:

"126 e OR east 36th"

I am confident that this is the information that interests you. If
anything is unclear, please ask for clarification before rating the
answer.

I can tell you what it sold for in 2003, if that would be of use to
you. It is unlikely that the amount of an unconsummated transaction
will be found online, but I hope another researcher can come up with
it for you.

Hi. The 2003 selling price would be great! Thanks.
