Hi, I'm investigating learning French in Paris. Some things I'm looking for: --No more than 5 week courses (I assume most will be during the summer, but time of year not critical) --Quality. I have a reasonably strong level of comprehension (I can read a French newspaper and generally understand what's going on) but need work on my conversation skills. I'm looking for a program that can push me along quickly. So far, I've found two that are pretty promising: American University in Paris http://www.aup.fr/main/academics/summer/french_immersion.htm Sorbonne IV http://www.fle.fr/sorbonne/ang/2005/summercourse-2005.htm Cost isn't a huge factor (though the Sorbonne is significantly cheaper.) I'm mainly concerned with a program where I'll learn a *lot* - however painful - in a short amount of time. What's the general take on these two programs and if there are additional programs that I should be looking at? Thanks much! |
