Hi Rambutan12! Bygul and Trjegul are the cats that pull the Norse Goddess Freya's chariot. References: FREYJA/FREYA (fray-ah): " She was married to the god Od, perhaps identical to Odhinn, who mysteriously disappeared. She weeps tears of gold, but the tears which fall into the sea become amber. Her cats, Bygul and Trjegul, pull her chariot. She owns the necklace Brisingamen and keeps half of the slain warriors in her hall. She is the mistress of cats, leader of the Valkyries, a shape-shifter, the Sage or "sayer" who inspires all sacred poetry.? http://www.norse-man.net/Norse/Gods.htm ========================================== Bygul (bee-gool) "One of the cats that pull Freyja?s chariot." Trjegul (tree-gool) "Also one of the cats that pull Freyja?s chariot." I had searched for this in lots of places and had actually found out the answer and then forgotten where I found it. I am building a boat which is to be called Freya and will call her two dinghies by the cats names. Thank you very much for a speedy reply. |
