Rep. Ed Koch served five terms in the U.S. House of Representatives
from 1966 to 1976.
	
Ed Koch was a member of the Appropriations Committee's Transportation
Subcommittee and led the fight for the mass transit operating subsidy
bill of 1974. He was also a member of the Foreign Operations
Subcommittee.

Before becoming Mayor of NYC, he was an advocate for a variety of
urban issues, chiefly transportation policy. He was also an advocate
for human rights as a part of U.S. foreign policy as well as an
advocate for Israel.
