Dear Gaby21,
" A runner is the person who fetches, carries and does whatever small
jobs need doing for anyone in the production department of a film,
video or television company.
Runners do whatever jobs people ask them to do, including tea making
and running local deliveries - transporting scripts, call sheets, hire
equipment and tapes to and from various locations.
Runners get involved in all aspects of the production. They are there
to learn as well as to assist. Being a runner is the entry level job
into the production side of broadcasting and can lead to all areas of
the industry."
