Question ID: 513828
The late jazz violinist Stephane Grappelly, also spelled Grapelly,
Grappely and Grapelli at times, once made a jazz LP with a flutist,
probably in the 1970s. I need the name of the the flutist, the name of
the album, and the recording
company/label.

Could this be the LP you are thinking of?

"When these recordings were originally released on the Angel Records
digital LP "Brandenburg Boogie," the titular track was the opening
salvo. Here, it's saved for last and very well indeed it serves as a
finale to the works that precede it.

"Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring" sways in a hammock nudged by the breezes
of Stephane Grappelli's violin and Elena Duran's flute while Laurie
Holloway's piano work sparkles like sunlight filtering through the
leaves."

Waiting to hear your views.

Best regards,
Rainbow

I first heard the album in 1976 or 1977. Does the one you are
describing feature Grappelly, and was it made in those years or
before? Thanks!

To Researchers:

I requested that my incorrect answer be removed. The album in
question is not either of the two Grappelli LPs featuring Elena Duran.
Nor is it the 1974 Herbie Mann LP featuring Grappelli on one track.
The customer first heard the album in question in 1976 or 1977.

To researchers:

I should add that I eliminated Elena Duran as the flutist because, as
far as I can tell, she made only two LPs with Grappelli, one in 1980
and one in 1983.
