If I were to suddenly lose all my material possessions except for my
U.S. passport and lose all memories except for my social security
number, what would be the best way to recover or continue to receive
all entitlements, Pensions, retirement accounts, annuities, royalties,
social
security checks, bank accounts, brokerage accounts, etc. (if you need
to simplify the question, include only government run accounts in this
list) due to me? The best method would be reliable or the cheapest.
I'm using this question to formulate an understanding of how much
financial security I have in life.

It is an intriguing problem: how can I - after an attack of amnesia -
or my heirs locate all my assets.
The US tax authority (IRS) gets reports of financial income, and now
in Germany govt. agencies have just been allowed to "sweep" for
individual customer info from banks, but could I go to the one or
other govt. with my identification and request that it releases the
details to me (IRS), or make a "sweep" (in Germany)?
Really quite interesting.
Sticking to the States: what information can be found using a Social
Security Number? Or in some other country, take the UK, just for
example, is there some govt. entity that has access - or potentially
could have access to the information, regardless of what it may now be
doing with it? ???
