Depends what is your goal weight is. It takes 3,500 calories to either gain or lose a pound. Keeping a negative calorie balance is necessary. Here is an easy way to figure the calories you need: Take your "Goal" weight, divide it by 2.2 = (A) (A) x 24 = (C)alories needed (to get to and maintain this weight without exercise.) Multiply by 1.3% for your activity level. = Total Calories needed per Day (with Exercise to get to and maintain goal weight.) Make your calories count by eating high-fiber, low-processed foods. Stay away from sugary drinks. Enjoy your sweets in moderation so you don't feel deprived, but start to subsitute them with sweet fruits such as berries, grapes and kiwi. Keeping table sugar out of your diet will help control your cravings for sweets and fruit is a great replacement. The more you do it....the more you'll do it.
