Hey J,
My bad, yeah it's a csv file but I'm allowed to do anything to it...
import into any other programs in office 2002 "I'm trapped".It's readable
in excel but like I said I can't import the file at all.

If you open the file in Excel, choose File -> Save As, and you'll see
"save as type" directly underneath where you enter the file name to
save it as. You can save it as an ordinary Excel file, which you
should be able to open directly in Word. I also think PowerPoint has
the ability to import Excel files as well. The file should be
directly usable in Access as a .CSV file.

I 've been doin some reaserching and i thought I needed the file
format to be changed but it is still the "read only " format that
actually need to be changed.Since it was originally created that way
,I can't save it or import it to my other Office 2002 programs to
save, archive into address books and databases like Word and Excel.
So please J send the file without the read only attribute.Make it a
one time download if you can If posting it is a issue. I know it's
value as do you.

Thanks :-)

Songwriter,

Are you able to open this file in any application? A CSV file is
typically for Excel or Access. Even if it's "read only" that would
not prohibit you from opening it in these programs. It would only
prohibit you from SAVING to that file. If you're trying to "import"
the file into some application other than Excel or Access, you have
to make sure the application is able to import from the file type CSV.
If not able to import from CSV, it might be able to import from
native Excel or Access format, in which case you need to SAVE the
document within Excel or Access as an Excel or Access format file. If
you have a problem saving because it's read-only, try:

A) Right-clicking on the file and going into its properties to change
it from read only.

or

B) Highlight the entire contents within Excel and copy and paste it
into a fresh Excel document, and save that one.

Additionally, I didn't do anything to make the file read-only -- it's
something you have to change on your system.

what's up J,
All of what your saying would be do-able...if the original file was
not made read only.Trust me on this one.I have tried all of what you
suggest to no avail.
Where ever you got this list could you please "go to it" or "them"
re-create the file or make it read and write access file.I get error
messages all over the place in every program from Access to Excel and
Word.
You cannot import/export or save this way "period, point blank.
I can't put any other way.
Your my favorite reasercher J...make it happin' PLEASE!!! I'm runnin
out on personal deadlines :-)

Songwriter -

The file must have gotten corrupted, because it was never "made" to be
read-only (you can't embed anything into a file like this and make it
read-only internally -- it's a setting that you select in the
properties of the file OR it's something that arises because you have
the same file open in two programs).

Here is an Excel version of the file. I've opened it with no problem
on my system, and saved it with no problem. You should have no
trouble opening it as-is in either Excel or Access, and even Word:

Let me know how it goes!

Hey there!

The file type was actually "CSV" or "comma separated file." This file
type should be directly readable by Microsoft Excel. Let me know if
that doesn't work.

Also, if by chance the extension of the file is ".CVS," rename it to .CSV.
