Though BigCharts.com and Yahoo! Finance are excellent sources for
currently listed companies, they have problems with companies that are
no longer actively traded and many older quotes.

Researchers typically rely on the Wall Street Journal microfilms at
the library or on the Proquest Historical Index of the New York Times.
 The latter, while a fee-based service, is available online at many
public libraries for free (and often via your home computer too).

Nynex had the following closing prices:

Friday, Mar. 2: 62 ½, -1/8
Friday, June 29: 60 ½, -1/2
Wednesday, Nov. 28: 74 5/8, - 1 1/8
