I need landscape ideas for a stream that runs through my yard. Images
as well as list of plants/flowers, how to, etc. Also stones used in
and around stream beds would be helpful and vendors.

How big is the stream? Width, distance, depth? What area are you in?

Yeah, man.

Stream is normally about 2 feet wide. depth is minimal -- 6 inches to
2 feet. (it does flood regularly). I live in the Mid-Atlantic --
specifically Northern Virginia.

I haven't had a chance to look at your comment, will do so a.m.

I have some ideas for you, but before I get into specifics I have
asked for a clarification about the stream.
 Here's some preliminary work.
Here's an H&G episode with a streambed; you might be able to get some ideas:

How about a Japanese garden? You can look at some pages of this book
online at Amazon.com

landscaping software?

As far as vendors are concerned, your local garden center is the best
source - they have plants which will thrive in your area, and if they
don't sell rocks and boulders, they probably know of someone locally
who does. These are the types of rocks you would want in the
streambed:

- this site has a few plants named, if they can be grown in your zone;
this is northern Illinois
This garden has a dry streambed which gets some rain runoff:

-- also northern Illinois.
