I am looking for a portable DVD player. They are a dime a dozen,
however I really want one that i can slap a bunch of AA ni-cad
batteries in. This is the main selling point for me. If I can
get a list of a few that support AA batteries then i'll be totally
happy

I am aware that (if I can find one) a portable dvd player tht runs on
AA bateries will blow through batteries. I have plenty of AA ni-cads,
around 60 or so....

I will be going on a trip (18 hour flight) and want the kids to be intertained...
I really do not want to buy a dvd player and then have to purchase
several battery packs that will only work with a dvd player. From the
reviews I have read on just about every review site, regardless of
brand or price, protable dvd players just do not seem to last very
long. If the dvd player lasts this trip and a few months longer I can
live with that.... If I am then left with a pile of usless (but
working batteries) i will not be a happy camper.

It will end up costing me more for portable dvd player batteries then
the player... even if i need to go out and purchase another 40 AA
ni-cad batteries ( bring total to around 100 to take on the trip) At
least they can be used for other devices after the dvd play is dead.

Just do a froogle search for [portable dvd "AA batteries"] and you'll
find plenty. Of course, you know you will be going through the
batteries like candy, right?
