Hello jujyja-ga:

While I found several online vendors who offer low-sodium versions of
V8, most sell it in large containers, not the in 5.5-oz cans. In fact,
I found only one vendor who carries it in that size.

If you would like more options for buying V8 online -- albeit in
larger containers than 5.5-oz -- please let me know and I will post
that information for you. I can also provide you with information
about other low-sodium V8 drinks (V8's Splash line of drinks and
Campbell's -- Campbell's is the parent company of V8 -- Healthy
Request tomato juice) and where you can purchase them Online.

Here's the one and only vendor who's a perfect match:

GRISTEDES at AMAZON.COM

Go to:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0004M1FGW/sr=1-1/qid=1114625891/ref=sr_1_1/103-5471762-2802238?%5Fencoding=UTF8&n=3580501&s=gourmet-food&v=glance
And you'll see Low-Sodium V8 in 5.5-oz cans at $3.19 per 6-pack.
(Clicking on the image to enlarge verifies this is the Low-Sodium
version.) It says "2 new," which is very confusing. Just click "Add To
Your Cart," and then click on "View Cart" at the top of the page. Then
change the quantity to however much you want.

Here's a link to Gristedes' seller's page at Amazon.com:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/seller/shipping.html/103-5471762-2802238/?seller=A3CDPEGSIQM61V
They indeed verify that you can buy in volume; in fact, you can get a
discount on shipping if you buy 10 or more items.

The only other near-match I found is PW CLUB (Piggly Wiggly)
http://www.pwclub.com/
This online discount grocer delivers via UPS and U.S. Postal Service,
and they carry Low-Sodium V8 Cocktail:
http://www.pwclub.com/en-us/dept_82.html
Scroll about halfway down the page to see the "Low-Sodium V8." This is
a "6-pack of 5-oz [V8] Low-Sodium Cocktail Juice", which sells for
$19.31. However, I'm not sure if this is bottles or cans, and the size
is slightly smaller than what you want.

If you have any questions about this product, you can contact PW Club:
Phone: 706-683-9935
Fax: 706-682-9507
Email: pwonline@bellsouth.net

If you decide to purchase here, you won't see a link to set up an
account at PW Club. Instead, click "Add To Basket" for the items you
want and then go to Checkout. At Checkout you'll be asked for your
address and payment method, etc.

OTHER OPTIONS:

Peapod is an online grocery that delivers your order straight to your
home. Unfortunately, at this time, they serve a very limited area. Go
to this page:
http://www.peapod.com/consumerIndex.jhtml
to see if you're in their delivery area. (You can enter your zip code at left.)

If you can use Peapod, once you've set up an account there you'll find
V8 products by searching the site, or at this page:
http://products.peapod.com/1977.html
(Scroll down to Low-Sodium V8 in 5.50z cans.)

You can also try this wholesaler, Southeast Frozen Foods, which is a
supplier to supermarkets. They *may* be willing to sell you 5.5-oz
cans of Low-Sodium V8, if you buy in large quantities:

http://64.233.161.104/search?q=cache:wGB1PNNQpTIJ:www.seff.com/wholesale/category-d70-m509-m539-items.php+low-sodium+V8+5.5-oz&hl=en
The item number is:

05100000067	V8 LO SODIUM JUICE 5.5Z	8	6 PK

Go to Southeast's home page:
http://www.seff.com/
And click their "Contact Us" to bring up
http://www.seff.com/contact.php

E-mail or phone them to see if they are willing to sell directly to
you. Be sure to include the item number I posted, above, in your
e-mail, or be ready to give it to them over the phone.

Again, if you would like the additional information I found about
buying Low-Sodium V8 online -- but in containers larger than the
5.5-oz size -- just post a Request For Clarification and I will gladly
post that for you.

Hi, I just read your reply regarding purchasing V8 online and you
stated that "If you would like more options for buying V8 online --
albeit in
larger containers than 5.5-oz -- please let me know and I will post
that information for you". Would you happen to still have that info?
I'm not a wholesale "buyer", just a person who loves V8 and would like
to purchase it online (if, of course, it's cheaper than buying at the
store). Costco carries , but not the low-sodium kind. I appreciate
your time. Thanks!

Hello squashdiddle-ga:

The additional information I have is:

NETGROCER:

At NetGrocer:
http://www.netgrocer.com/default.cfm?s=netgrocer
Just type in "V8 juice" in the search engine at the top right of the page.
They carry Low-Sodium V8 at $2 per quart. (See Low-Sodium V8 at the bottom
of page 2 of V8 results), and they also carry Splash.

NetGrocer delivers groceries all over the country via FedEx, although they
cannot deliver to P.O. addresses. To read their FAQ, go to:
http://www.netgrocer.com/default.cfm?s=netgrocer
and click on "General FAQs" in the menu at left.

Several forums I stumbled across contained posts mentioning that some
Costco stores do carry low-sodium V8. I suggest you ask your local
Costco if they'd be willing to order the low-sodium version for you,
especially if you're willing to buy in bulk.

I did go to Costco's Web site:
http://www.costco.com/
But I could not find V8 for sale there.

Likewise, if you're near a Sam's Club, try looking there. Sam's Club stores
carry regular V8 and Splash, but not Online. I'm not sure if Sam's Clubs
have Low-Sodium V-8, but you may want to call a Sam's Club near you and ask.

I found another great option at V8's site. Their line of "Splash"
drinks is also extremely low in sodium. Go to:
http://www.v8juice.com/splash.aspx
Click on any flavor, such as "Tropical Blend," then click on "Show Nutrition
Information." You'll see that many of the Splash drinks have only about
40-50 mgs of salt per serving, vs. 140 mgs in "Low-Sodium V8."

Gristedes also sells V8's Splash drinks online. Go to Amazon.com's main
page:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/subst/home/home.html/103-5471762-2802238
Then, select the category "Gourmet Food Beta" from the pull-down menu at
left, and type in "V8 Splash." This will bring up an entire page of
Gristedes' Splash selection.

FOOD SERVICE DIRECT:
http://www.foodservicedirect.com/index.cfm/S/3/CLID/63/N/82501/V8_Splash_16_ounce.htm
Food Service Direct carries quite a few of the Splash items." Simply refer
to
http://www.v8juice.com/splash.aspx
to check sodium amounts before ordering. You have to order by the case here,
with a three-case minimum. V8 products cost about $20-$30 per case, and each
case contains eight 64-oz bottles, *if* I'm reading this correctly.

Food Service Direct also carries Campbell's (Campbell's is the parent
company of V8) Healthy Request VJuice on their V8 page:
http://www.foodservicedirect.com/index.cfm/S/3/CLID/71/N/236/V8_JUICE__-_Canned_Vegetable_Juices.htm
It's the second item down on that page. I wasn't able to learn much about
that particular item, but you may want to call Food Service Direct at
1-800-425-4679 to inquire about it. Anything from Campbell's Healthy Request
line should be low in sodium.

Hi again squashdiddle-ga:

I'm sorry; I just realized that NetGrocer's inventory has changed, and
it appears they no longer carry the low-sodium version of V8.

You can can order low-sodium V8 in 46-oz. bottles from Gristedes
Market, via Amazon.com:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0004MXMTA/sr=1-2/qid=1125200788/ref=sr_1_2/102-1281944-1720159?%5Fencoding=UTF8&n=3580501&s=gourmet-food&v=glance

A possible alternative for you: Gristedes also sells low-sodium
*Campbell's Tomato Juice* in 64-oz bottles via Amazon.com:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00061EVNA/ref=ord_cart_shr/102-6393626-1731367?%5Fencoding=UTF8&m=A3CDPEGSIQM61V&v=glance

Hope this helps,
nancylynn-ga
