The January 2005 Super Bowl winning NE Patriots players each were paid
$68,000 plus a team-designed ring which usually is rather gaudy.
Players contracts often have incentives for the team making the
playoffs, advancing and winning the championship. The game MVP may be
particularly rewarded.

Separately, the NFL insists that the host city typically gets upwards
of a $300 million boost to the local economy. This is very difficult
to quantify, with economist deriving #?s much lower/higher based on
assumptions.

Sports such as boxing, pro tennis and golf and NASCAR have very
different economic structures from each other and are more individual
in nature. Therefore more difficult to research.
