I would like some feedback and information about how commercial debt programs offered by companies such as www.amerassist.biz and www.corporateturnaround.com work and the realities of their efficacy and how and if they impact one's credit score and business reputation. The appearance of the program and discussions with their people give the appearance of a genuine effort to repay creditors. However, I have heard that some groups like this simply hold on to the money you send them until the creditors give up and take pennies on the dollar (rather than work towards an amicable resolution). I am the personal guarantor on approximately $170,000 of unsecured business debt (credit cards and credit lines) and I have paid off $40,000 of that over the past 6 months from personal funds. However, the income I generate from my full-time job makes it impossible to service the minimum payments on these accounts each month. My attempts to negotiate with the creditors has also failed. I have no desire to file bankruptcy for personal and professional reasons and I am looking for a way to service the debt, but would like to know if this is a viable option and if there are other preferrable options. |

Two months ago, I signed up with one of the Industry leaders. So far I have made several contributions, jumped through all the loops, and some of my creditors have not been contacted. I have phoned, emailed, and faxed information. I have even sent information to the president of the company, No one communicates to me. At this time I have no idea of the status, except what I continue to hear from my creditors. At this point, shortly I will be served because these creditors will be sueing. They did a great pitch on my ititial contact. Since then it is the pits. NO communication. I don't know exactly what to do. I am however considering flying to thier office and meet them face to face. I can't conduct business that way, I don't understand how a leader in the industry can either. |
