Where can I take a serious online test to see 'who I really am and what really interests and motivates me in life'? Preferrably with extensive results and some proposals as how to take advantage of those findings. The test can ( and probably should) cost something, but needs to be serious/scientific. Philantropic would be a plus. Religious and commercial/bogus offers must be avoided! Offline tests would not be excluded, but online tests are preferred. The langue of the test can be english, german or french. The test should not concentrate just on career or just on love etc. It should have a more holistic approach. | |

I found the temperament sorter personality instrument on this site really helpful as far as sorting out my personal inclinations and career direction. They have a free test and tests that require money here: http://www.advisorteam.com/temperament_sorter/ |

Regarding the "what really motivates me and makes me happy" part of your question, I would suggest using the techniques in the career workbook "What Color Is My Parachute". This workbook doesn?t focus on career in the narrow sense, but rather is a process of self-discovery of what one loves. My other suggestion would be to record and interpret your dreams, using a technique such as Jungian dream analysis. Dreams provide direct communication from the unconscious, the source of psychic energy a.k.a. motivation. Either of these suggested techniques requires considerable work on your part ? a quest for self-knowledge. I?m skeptical that an online psychological diagnostic test will provide useful insights into sources of motivation. (It would be interesting to read the comments of a professional psychologist on this question.) |
