Question ID: 516205
Going on the assumptions that all Medical Plans (e.g. BlueCross
Georgia HMO, AETNA PPO San Francisco, ...) need to be approved, is
there a service out there that lists all approved medical plans in the
US?

Ideally the results would contain the name of the organization (e.g.
AETNA), Location (e.g. Los Angeles), Plan Type (e.g. PPO) ... and
Unqiue Plan Identifier. I need the url or phone number of any service
that sells or publishes this listing.

Hi gary1960,

Please take a look at this database and let me know if it suits your purpose:

http://www.doctordirectory.com/doctordirectory/healthplans/state.aspx

Click on a state to find the available medical plans for that state.
Then clicking on a plan will provide you with the respective contact
information.

Looking forward to hearing your views.

Best regards,
Rainbow

Actually it does - Thank you. I will probably need to contact
doctordirectory.com to see if I can get the listing (database) in a
more computer friendly format but this is quite good.
I will probably be posting another question soon - a list of
formularies for each plan. I'm virtually certain that list will have
to be paid for but just finding a company who sells the list will be
of value. Will post soon. Thanks again.
