What size apartment are you talking about? Studio? One Bedroom? A good bet is Craigs List. I know a lot of people who found their apartments thru them. http://newyork.craigslist.org/ |

Safe areas in Manhattan are grotesquely expensive, as are spots like Brooklyn Heights. You'll likely end up way out in one of the Boroughs, or in New Jersey. With 2 dogs, you'd do better to look in outer Queens or Staten Island for a 'mother-daughter' 2/3 family. |
