I am working on compiling a comprehensive list of law firm practice
areas. The list is composed of about 70 high-level legal practice
areas (listed below). What I need help with are the sub-practice
areas within each top-level practice.
I need a researcher to visit 1-2 law firm websites (or any other law
related website dealing with the subject) that specialize in each
top-level practice area, and then compile a short list of the
sub-practices within that top level practice area.
Here is an Example:
- Top Level Practice Area = "Admiralty And Maritime Law"
- Source = http://www.vanblk.com/practice/maritime.html
- sub level practice areas =
Cargo Damage Defense
Slackage
Contamination
Property Damage General Average

As you can see from the above example, the top level practice area was
Admiralty And Maritime Law. The website I visited
(www.vanblk.com/practice/maritime.html) listed all sorts of issues
(sub practice areas) that Admiralty / Maritime lawyers deal with.
This particular example has more sub-practice areas than most. In
general, I have been able to find 10 to 25 sub-practice areas for each
top level practice area. I need a researcher to complete this
process for each top level legal
practice area listed below. And, of course, I need the research to
cite the appropriate source (website or websites) where the
information was obtained.
I have actually already compiled my own complete list. I am posting
this question so that I can compare my results with someone elses to
see how much overlap there is. I mostly used Google to build my list.
The entire process took me a few hours (less than 5 minutes per top
level practice area), so I feel like I am pricing this question
fairly. Please let me know if anything is unclear. And, thank you in
advance for your diligent research.
*NOTE: I need this research completed by May 2, 2005.
