Question ID: 517023
I have three technical questions associated to the sport of surfing:
1) What is the power generated by an average surfer when paddling a
surfboard ? at the time when the athlete is producing his/her maximum
power when paddling to catch a wave? 2) What is maximum thrust force
generated by the surfer?s paddling at peak performance and thus the
acceleration and average mass of the surfer/surfboard combination.
And 3) what is the average holding time for maximum power - the time
elapse from when the surfer starts paddling until he/she catches the
wave? Answers should be given in metric units. To provide a five star
rating, I expect not less than three specific physics surfing
references and three additional references to other sports and
athletes physics (mass, acceleration, force, work, and power.)

Researchers, please disregard the references expectation on the
original question. A well supported answer will be sufficient for a
good rating and a great tip.
