Are you looking for a paper or online copy? If paper, are you looking
for a replica or do you need the actual paper from 85 years ago?

ProQuest Historical Newspapers provides full, online, scanned copies
of both newspapers, and their collections cover the date you are
looking for.

http://www.il.proquest.com/proquest/features/feature-04/default.shtml

ProQuest databases are aimed at learning institutions. However, there
is some access available for individuals through their XanEdu
products.

Alternatively, you can telephone ProQuest on 800-521-0600 or
734-761-4700, ext. 3183 or 3452; or e-mail them at
pqsales@il.proquest.com.

Many universities hold copies of the New York Times and Wall Street
Journal, either on paper or (more often) on microfilm. They can often
photocopy specific pages for a fee. For example, here is the homepage
of the New York State Newspaper Project.

http://www.nysl.nysed.gov/nysnp/

The British Library holds full sets of the New York Times and the Wall
Street Journal, and A2 copies (ie, full-size) of single pages of
newspapers in its collection may be ordered for the purposes of
research or private study.

http://www.bl.uk/collections/copy.html#placeord

They can fulfill orders by post provided full details are given;
though you might find it easier to approach a local university
instead.

Finally, several companies offer complete copies of actual newspapers
from specific dates, suitable for a gift:

Com Three

Timothy Hughes Rare and Early Newspapers
http://www.rarenewspapers.com/birthday.asp

AnyDate
http://www.anydate.com/newsdesc.htm

Search strategy:

On google:
historic newspapers
historic wall street journal
old newspapers
birthday newspapers
original newspapers

I hope your husband has a day to remember!
