Was there a town of HYNES in Iowa, circa 1904? And, now extinct? I
saw a 1904 pension list of people from Iowa (town of Hynes), on
Google.

There is evidence that Hynes, Iowa was around in 1904.
Nat'l Academy Press, Memorial Tributes: (1991), Hugh S. Knowles
( http://www.nap.edu/books/0309043492/html/177.html ) - This page is a
tribute to physicist Hugh S. Knowles: "Hugh Knowles was born in Hynes,
Iowa, September 23, 1904..."

Descendants of Charles Carl STICE STEISS
( http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~stice/mrk/pafg85.htm ) - From a
family history website: "The former Ada Hyde was forn December 22,
1875, at Cedar, Iowa and her marriage to Mr. Stice was solemnized at
Hynes, Iowa, May 16, 1897."

Then of course there are the pension lists you mentioned.

I suspect that Hynes, Iowa, due to the lack of information about it,
may have been or still is an unincorporated village. I live in an
unincorporated village and we seldom show up anywhere except on birth
and death certs.

I hope this is of help. Please ask for any clarifications if needed.

Cheers

Hi again - Just copy the page and save it to a file then email the
file. You may also try clicking on "file" in your toolbar and then
clicking "send page." As this is a membership site, I'm not really
sure the "send page" feature would work without the recipient also
being a member. thanks for your compliments and I will see if I can
find township information for you. But with the dearth of information
about the place, there are no promises.
