Can painting a new car bring down its value? (jaguar S-type R

How many "rasberry red or Aqua blue" cars have you seen on the road
lately? There doesn't seem to be a huge demand for them.

How long do you plan to keep the car? If you would love the custom
colors, can afford the price of painting the car and plan to keep it
for a while it might not matter what anybody thinks.

That's precisely why I chose unusual colors, I don't want to have the
same as everybody else. The rasberry and Aqua (irridescent) are
colors manufactured in England for Jaguars and other race cars.

Czh is exactly right, the demand for your car will probably go down if
you paint it a weird color. Thus if you went to sell it, you'd
probably have to lower the price a bit.

But that really doesn't matter at all if you're keeping the car for
more than a few years. When people go to buy an 8 year old car, they
are much less interested in color than when they buy a new or barely
used car.

Thank you "jack of few trades". I do believe you're right. I do plan
on keeping the car, and eventually my daughter will drive it (she
wants it badly)
Besides, going down on the price a bit is worth enjoying the car for several years.

Lady Omega,

Would you let czh post the comment as an answer? Right now s/he
wouldn't get paid for it.
