I am interested in finding between three and seven academic
institutions in the northeastern United States including universities
and private language schools that offer intensive Serbian and/or
Croatian language instruction.
The requirements are:
1. Academic institution with language training track record.
2. Provides technology assisted instructions that include video,
audio and written materials to help the learning process.
3. Minimum of 30 hours of language instruction per week conducted six
hours per day, five days per week, for 23-26 weeks, of which up to two
hours per day can be language laboratory and a minimum of four hours
per day live instruction.
4. Practical application tasks emphasizing reading, writing,
listening, speaking, grammar skills, lectures, and question and answer
period.
5. Level of instruction tailored to the student's language proficiency.
6. Maximum class size: 4 students.
7. Location: Ohio or east, North Carolina or north, but not New York
City or Washington, DC metropolitan areas. Preference is for a
college town but any other city is OK.
A program that meets requirement #3 can include a combination of a
scheduled summer session intensive course preceded by individual
tutorials. Or the program can consist entirely of a specially
arranged individual program or of scheduled classes or a combination
of both.
This language training is for practical use for living in Serbia or
Croatia; no academic degree is needed. The time period would be any
26-week period between September 2006 and July 2007.
I need full contact information, including name and location of
institution, name and phone number of contact person for the language
course, and website.
I already have contact information for the U. of Pittsburgh, Duke U.
and Ohio State U. in order to ask them whether they can offer such a
program, so I don't need information on these institutions in the
answer to this question. I would like an answer to this question by May 21, 2005. |
