The unemployment rates for the following states for September 2001
were the following:

New York 5.1 Not Seasonally Adjusted
New York 5.2 Seasonally Adjusted

California 5.4 Not Seasonally Adjusted 
California 5.7 Seasonally Adjusted

Texas 5.2 Not Seasonally Adjusted
Texas 5.1 Seasonally Adjusted

U.S. Department of Labor
Bureau of Labor Statistics

The unemployment rate for the whole nation for Sept 2001 was:  

4.7 Not Seasonally Adjusted
5.0 Seasonally Adjusted
