1. What is the easiest way to move Contacts from Outlook Express
   to Outlook, without losing anybody, and without creating duplicates?

2. Can you get Outlook to automatically add new people to Contacts from
   an email, just like Outlook Express does?

versions:
Outlook 2000 SP-3
Outlook Express 6 xpsp_sp2
Windows XP

About item #2 in the comment. That is not what I'm looking for.
In Outlook Express, addresses are added automatically... no clicking
needed. Can the same functionality be activated in Outlook?

Hi atr,

Here you go - 

Question # 1:
Import Outlook Express contacts into the Outlook Contacts folder
1. In Outlook, on the File menu, click Import and Export.
2. Under Choose an action to perform, click Import Internet Mail and Addresses.
3. Under Select the Internet Mail application to import from, click
Outlook Express 4.x, 5.x, 6.x.
4. Clear the check boxes for Import Mail and Import Rules. Only the
Import Address Book check box should be selected.
5. Click Next.
6. Select one of the following:
    Replace duplicates with items imported  Existing data will be
overwritten with the information in the file that is being imported.
    Do not import duplicate items  Existing data will be kept, and the
duplicate information in the file will not be copied to the current
Outlook folder.
7. Click Finish.
8. After the export is complete, click Save in Inbox if you want a
message in your Inbox that logs what was exported, or click OK.

Question # 2:
OL2000: (IMO) How to Automatically Add People to Contacts
1. On the Tools menu, click Options.
2. On the Preferences tab, click E-mail Options.
3. Click to select Automatically put people I reply to in. If you have
more than one Contacts folder available, click   Folder, and then
select the desired Contacts folder.
4. Click OK to close all dialog boxes.

1. File-Import...follow the steps.

2. Open the email message. Right-click the FROM name. Hit Add to
contacts. Hit Save and Close.
