Our office is hosting a conference on August 26, 2002 and we would like to supply each participant with a map of the Irvine, CA area. We are anticipating roughly 100 participants. The map should have considerable detail of the Irvine area. More then you would see using a mapping service such as mapquest when it is set to show a whole city. Something along the lines of a folding map that you could find at a gas station would probably work ok (though it is a little large) but the price needs to be low. Right now the budget on this map project is $100. Wholesale folding map companies I have found would charge around $2.50 per map. It does not have to be a folding map though. A map of the irvine area that just filled a single page would work great as well, as long as there is enough detail that the majority of streets in Irvine are shown. I have found companies that have services such as single page mapping that can be downloaded in PDF format, but most have additional topographical information which I do not need. Please let me know if you need any clarification. |

If you haven't done so already, I'd suggest calling the Chamber of Commerce to see if they have any maps available or know of someone who does. http://www.irvinechamber.com/ |

I called (949) 660-9112 - Chamber of Commerce - has no tourist maps, and no suggestions as to where to find one. Sorry. I wish you luck finding something. |

Are most of your attendees staying at a specific hotel? I'd ask the hotel concierge if she might get you a deal on maps. Are you renting any conference rooms? Ask the person you booked the space with to get you some. In fact, if you get freebies from both sources, you may be able to purchase the rest and stay under budget. |
