When You want to set up a higher speed for your cpu you have to do it from bios. You should choose from bios an option related to cpu setup (I think it is named Cpu Pnp Setup) from there you can setup an higher cpu speed pressing the keys page-up or page-down. If tou don't solve your problem tell me and i'm gonna check-it again. |

I am in no way an expert, but I believe you may be misunderstanding the CPU speed: That number AMD lists is not the frequency it runs on. For instance my laptop has a AMD XP-M 2800+ ... which actually only runs on ~ 2120 MHz. I'm not sure if this is the CPU you have, but this page lists the AMD XP 3000+ as running on 2167MHz. http://www.geek.com/news/geeknews/2003Feb/bch20030210018584.htm So it looks like your BIOS is detecting it correctly. Hopefully this answer is good enough that you can pull the question now (or reword it). |
