Mongolia recently "independent"?? I understand Mongolia has been independent since 1911 ( which is hardly recently) Before 1911 it was ruled by China.i For most of the 20th century it was closely allied with the former Soviet Union. However it was an independent country in its own right for this time. Regards Mongolia |

A good site offering historical information about Mongolia is: http://www.un.int/mongolia/histdoc.htm -Although Mongolia has only more recently made democratic reforms (adopted in the 1992 Constitution), 'mongolia' is correct in stating that Mongolia has been independent since 1921. -It was part of China until 1911. -A treaty signed in 1979 specified the official border with the Soviet Union at the time. Nevertheless, the unscrambled word is clearly correct. |
