I know this question has expired, but couldn't resist the challenge...
at least for a quick look!

First, a search on "Pedlar, Louis" turned up
http://www.nassaulibrary.org/locustv/LeaderP.html which gives "PEDLAR,
Louis C. 8/12/48 (6)" in a list of other names -- but there's no
indication (other than the page-name) of what the list might be, or
why Pedlar's name is on it. This is the website of Locust Valley
Library in New York State, suggesting that we do have the correct
Louis C. Pedlar -- if you live in Nassau County, NY, you can ask a
real live librarian about it -- online (
http://www.nassaulibrary.org/emeadow/live.htm ) most evenings;
otherwise, the reference librarian's email address is on the website.
This angle may be well worth pursuing, in case the Nassau Co. library
system has ownership of Louis C.'s private papers!

Also, you may be interested in this Pedlar family website -- Pedlar is
a relatively uncommon name, and if you think you're part of the large
Cornwall (UK) branch this may be of interest:

Much thanks for that very interesting and important lead regarding my
GF. I contacontacted the library in Locust Valley and they mailed me a
1948 article regarding his name being entered on a WW11 honor roll
bronze plaque, set in field stone. Yeoldescribe
