I am looking for a CD Recorder where:

1) You do not need a computer or competer program.

2) You can fade in and fade out on a cd track which you are recording
to another cd.

3) Costs under $500, ideally, and does not need to be connected to a
stereo system - something 'fairly' portable.

4) You can start a song in the middle of the track. (Now, I know that
you can easily stop recording half way through a song, simply by
pressing Stop. What I'm looking for is a device where I can take a 5
minute song, and only record, say, from 1:35 to 3:20 of that track
onto another cd.) I would have to be able to cue up the cd to any
point in the track that I choose. Everything I can find, only allows
you to record from the beginning on a track. Often I want to record
songs that have long percussion intros before the vocals start, and
I'd rather just have the cd fade in when the vocals start.

Finally, I am also looking for a cd recorder where I can choose that
length of time between each tracks (whether it is 3 seconds, 1 second,
or less).

Thanks!!!!!!!!!

The partial track requirement is tough. I have only found one player
that seems to meet all of your requirements, but it costs $1,466 to
$2,200. Will this be acceptable as an answer?

"Yamaha MCX-1000 MusicCAST Digital Audio Server"

(it is a little more than halfway down the page).

Sincerely,

Wonko

Thanks for your reply, but since there's no way I can afford the cd
player you suggest, I guess I'd still like someone to see if they can
find a better answer. I could probably go to 750.00, though I'd much
prefer 500.00.

Thanks Again
